Dear Project 365,
On Monday, we wrapped up another year together. 365 days of both inspiration and frustration, although the times of insight and revelation far outweighed the days of discouragement and disappointment.
Thank you for teaching me that perfection is indeed overrated. That intention and commitment are the critical factors in our relationship. On the days when the camera stayed in its bag, you gently whispered, “it’s okay, tomorrow is a new beginning.” And it was.
Thank you for giving me the courage to post less-than-stellar images – those taken merely to satisfy our daily agreement. Because I learned something from each encounter, even if it was simply the value of persistence.
There are so many images I would have missed without your sweet-tempered prodding. I stand here today a better photographer because of this work we did together.
Our daily practice gives structure and meaning to my days, here in retirement. It provides a daily dose of creativity. It forces me to leave this warm and comfortable nest and go out into the world. I return, trailing bits of seashell-pink sunrises, wisps of transient contrails, shards of magically distorted reflections, fragments of blazing golden sun flare.
What do you say – shall we do it all again?
With love,
Brenda
